The food was delicious and you won't be disappointed with anything you order. The steak was very tender and juicy. However, I had ordered medium and it came out medium-well. Not a big deal but kinda a bummer when that happens. I also had the shrimp cocktail which was packed with horseradish and so of course I loved it. For those who don't like spice, just be warned.
I have heard great things about this place before I moved to this neighborhood and I was so looking forward to patronizing this place every night or so as a new LGBT customer. However, as soon as I came in and proceeded to the bar counter (on 11/23/24), I was snubbed by the bartender (the dude in the burgundy shirt) - he was solely focused on talking to another customer non-stop ignoring everyone else. I flagged another bartender in the red shirt - he responded right away but was messing up my simple orders (diet vs regular coke and burger with no cheese). The bartender in burgundy was still talking to his favorite customer after I finished my meal. Overall, I didn’t feel welcomed at this place - I was soo looking forward to my first experience at this place. I had a way more positive experience at straight venues welcoming LGBT customers. Alas, I will have to find another place to spend my money on. So much for welcoming to this neighborhood…It appears that this place rests on its laurels. I want to come back to this place but only if the manager trains personnel on customer service. In the meantime, I’m going to spread negative feedback about this place not only among the DC LGBT community, but also diplomatic one until this place goes down in history. My high expectations were totally ruined after I was so looking forward to visiting this place.
Although advertised as a steak restaurant, do NOT order a steak. Waiter said they have been serving steaks for 46 years. Maybe they will get it right one day. Filet was terrible, undercooked and then rather than replace it, just threw it in the microwave to get it overdone. Looked like a burger, and for $44, save your money. If you want a steak, go to a real steak house.
Ordered Filets Mignon, the most expensive item on the menu. It should melt in your mouth. It arrived bitty raw and as tough as leather.
